Community Foundation of Will County Welcomes New Executive Director Elizabeth (Jan) Edgar
Joliet, Illinois — The Community Foundation of Will County (CFWC) is pleased to welcome Executive Director Elizabeth (Jan) Edgar, MS, CFRE, effective November 13, 2020. Jan is a successful non-profit and development executive with a proven track record with the United Way, regional health care organizations and medical industry associations. “Jan is the perfect leader for the Community Foundation as we tackle our ambitious goals for growth and impact in Will County,” says Rod Tonelli, chairman of the Board of the CFWC. “Jan’s excellent reputation in Will County will be instrumental in helping us connect people who care with causes that matter and fully leverage the power of philanthropy in our community.”
Jan served most recently as a development executive with the Presence Health System which included the Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet and its network throughout Illinois. She was successful in executing the strategic goals of the organization as it related to philanthropy and long term partnerships. “During these challenging times the need for philanthropy is greater than ever,” says Edgar. “The CFWC is uniquely positioned to expand its impact. I look forward to working with the Board, donors, non-profits and community leaders to realize our potential and to serve Will County.”
The Community Foundation of Will County seeks to improve the quality of life throughout Will County by promoting philanthropy, connecting donors to community needs and building partnerships. The CFWC was founded as an affiliate of the Chicago Community Trust by local community leaders in 2006 to serve as a local resource for donors and professional advisors in the implementation of charitable strategies through donor advised funds and other planning vehicles, to build endowments in areas of special interest and to hold various nonprofit agency/organization endowment funds.
