About The Community Foundation of Will County

The Community Foundation of Will County (CFWC) is Will County’s charitable endowment, allowing for investment income to be used to promote philanthropic purposes. Our priority areas are in health, education, human services, and the arts.

The CFWC is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) public foundation established in 2006. We ‘connect people who care, to causes that matter’ to improve the lives of Will County residents.

We seek to build partnerships to strengthen relationships and identify needs among non-profit organizations, professional advisors, donors and community stakeholders.

Our Affiliation to The Chicago Community Trust

The Community Foundation of Will County is an Affiliate of the Chicago Community Trust, governed by a local board of directors, representative of may the communities that encompass Will County.

The Chicago Community Trust is one of metropolitan Chicagoland’s largest community endowments and works to serve Cook, Lake, McHenry and Will counties.

Currently, the population trend is growing significantly outside of the City of Chicago, including Will County, increasing the need for social services throughout the County.

Through the development of the Affiliates, like The Community Foundation of Will County, the Chicago Community Trust fulfills its mission by raising county-specific philanthropic capital to address growing needs.
