Congratulations To The Community Foundation Of Will County Award Grantees
The Community Foundation of Will County awarded nine grants totaling $86,126 to local agencies at an awards reception held at the Mistwood Golf Club in Romeoville.
The recipients included Catholic Charities-Diocese of Joliet, Family Bridges, Farmworker & Landscape Advocacy Project, Heart Haven Outreach, Joliet Area Community Hospice, Loaves & Fishes Community Services, Northern Illinois Food Bank, One Hope United, and United Way of Will County.
Catholic Charities-Diocese of Joliet received $11,171 to purchase two new freezers and 50 sleeping mats for Daybreak Center. Family Bridges was awarded $5,000 for a bilingual holiday theater performance celebrating Latino Heritage. Farmworker & Landscaper Advocacy Project received a $5,000 grant to provide bilingual education training sessions for migrant and seasonal workers and a $8,000 grant was awarded to Heart Haven Outreach to provide access to free professional mental health support services to middle school and high school aged students and families.
In addition, the Joliet Area Community Hospice received $15,000 to provide hospice training to paramedics. Loaves and Fishes Community Services was awarded a $5,296 grant to purchase a refrigeration unit to store perishable foods. Northern Illinois Food Bank received $7,000 to purchase two coolers and one freezer for a new food pantry in University Park. One Hope United received $15,000 to purchase a healthy lifesystel curriculum and United Way of Will County was awarded a $14,659 grant to implement a Will County Bridges Out of Poverty initiative.
The Community Foundation of Will County is Will County’s charitable endowment, allowing investment income to be used to promote philanthropic purposes. Priority areas include health, education, human services, and the arts. The Community Foundation of Will County is an Affiliate of the Chicago Community Trust, governed by a local board of directors, who represent the many communities that encompass Will County.
Since 2006, the Community Foundation of Will County has awarded grants totaling more than 1.4 Million to support non-profits across Will County of which over $86,000 went to 9 local organizations in 2019.

The Community Foundation of Will County Hosts FY19 Community Partner Grants Informational Meetings in March
The Community Foundation of Will County will host three informational meetings in March for local nonprofit organizations interested in applying for a grant through the Foundation’s Community Partner Grants Cycle.
Meetings will be held on:
March 14th at 9:00 a.m. at Plainfield Village Hall located at 24401 W. Lockport St. Plainfield, IL 60544
March 19th at 1:00 p.m. at the Will County Center for Community Concerns located at 2455 Glenwood Ave. Joliet, IL 60435
March 25th at 9:00 a.m. at Trinity Services at 301 Veterans Parkway New Lenox, IL 60451.
Information regarding eligibility guidelines and application process will be presented at the meetings. Organizations are strongly encouraged to send a representative to one of the three informational meetings being offered, as significant changes have been made to the FY19 application and guidelines.
Applicants may apply for a Community Partner Grant by submitting an on-line grant application beginning April 1st. The application and grant guidelines may be found here. The deadline for FY19 Cycle is 11:59 p.m. on Friday May 31st.
Joliet Area Community Hospice (JACH) honors The Community Foundation of Will County with Heart of Hospice Award
Joliet Area Community Hospice (JACH) will honor this year’s Heart of Hospice Award recipients: The Community Foundation of Will County for recognizing the importance of hospice care for children and adults and for elevating the culture of philanthropy in Will County and Dr. J.D. Wright for compassionate, loving care given to hospice patients and for his dedication to JACH and the community.
